Women Empowering Women

Last night, Generation Women put on another great show of powerful ladies telling their stories LIVE.

We heard from sculptor and visual artist Carol K. Brown, seven-time Moth StorySLAM champion Sandi Marx, iHeartRadio's Helen Little, writer and co-founder of TheLi.st Glynnis MacNicol, senior reporter at Jezebel Prachi Gupta, and senior editor at Glamour Mattie Kahn

Events like these make New York one of the safest, most open-hearted stages to truly express yourself.

July 18: Generation Women at Caveat

Generation Women hosts monthly live storytelling showcases celebrating bad-ass women and the stories that made them so rock solid.

On July 18th, six women, each from a different age bracket, joined host Georgia Clark for a special evening at Caveat.

We heard from Ashley Gavin (20, comedian), Piera Gelardi (30, co-founder of Refinery29), Kathleen McKitty Harris (40, writer), Peternelle van Arsdale (50, author and book editor), Rhonda Hansome (60, comedian and actress), and Piri Halasz (80, art critic, journalist, art historian, and teacher).

The audience heard heart-warming stories that made them laugh, and even cry. In the end, the show was nothing short of the warm-and-fuzzies.

A Mural Grows in Gowanus, Brooklyn

In collaboration with Jet Fuel Studio, The Yard commissioned a vibrant mural installation, a play on the Brooklyn Bridge, in their Gowanus, Brooklyn coworking space. Artist ZimerNYC spent four days working on the project, and the final product is bringing new life to an already invigorating space.
